ABIA QLD AWARDS 2016
Another amazing ABIA Queensland awards ceremony has come and gone. This year certainly saw some surprises and certainly shook things up. The event was held at the beautiful Cloudlands in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane on the 26th of July. For wedding industry professionals, this is our one night a year to bask in our accomplishments as the scores are released for our hard work for the previous 12 months. The scores are based on the scoring given to each supplier by bridal couples.
The night began with NikNat Entertainment providing our live jazz vocals as the award nominees rolled into the venue to enjoy pre-award and pre-dinner drinks. The venue was just the right backing for the jazz vocals set. Performing on the stairs over looking the guests was really something else!
ABIA QLD AWARDS 2016 – DJ of the Year
This year, at NikNat Entertainment we are proud to announce that we scored a perfection rating of 99.84%. Last year we scored 99.53%. We have seen our rating increasing each and every year. This score gave us the runner-up award. The winner was Aaron Duncan from the Sunshine Coast of Cut A Rug on a rating of 99.93%. We are very proud to see him win this award and even more proud to call him a friend.
ABIA QLD AWARDS 2016 – MC of the Year
This year saw another great friend of our, DJ Brad take out this award. Brad is such a talented individual and is very deserving of this award. He scored 99.29%. NikNat Entertainment scored 97.58%. Another great achievement as last year we only scored 95.69%, so we have definitely seen improvement this year.
ABIA QLD AWARDS 2016 – Live Music of the Year
This year was our first year in the Live Music category and we scored 97.96%. We are happy with this result for our first year in this category and hope to improve on that score next year!
ABIA QLD AWARDS 2016 – Ceremony Music
We scored 97.49% in the ceremony music category this year. Last year we scored 96.64%. So in every category we have bettered our scores from last year, so this is a big win for the NikNat Entertainment team!
SPECIAL MENTIONS
We would like to make mention of some of the other amazing wedding industry professionals achievements at this year’s ABIA awards. We would like to send a massive congratulations to the amazing Tarnya Bennett from I Do … For You! Tarnya is an amazing celebrant that definitely deserves this award. Her score was an incredible 99.98%.
Tarnya was so overwhelmed with emotion on her way up to accept her award and it was wonderful to see. So much hard work finally paying off.
We would also like to congratulate the team at one of our favourite venues we are honoured to frequent – Maleny Manor. The team at Maleny manor took out both the best ceremony venue and reception venue awards. The double whammy for the team at Maleny! Well done team, we can’t wait to work at your amazing venue again soon!
The awards this year were very enjoyable and we can’t wait until next year!
Here is to another 12 months of doing every single thing possible to keep each and every bridal couple happy with our service so we can continue to improve our scores year by year. A special mention and massive thank you to our team, in particular DJ Matt. We really appreciate all the commitment and hard work you put into each and every event.
