We are currently facing some uncertain, strange and unprecedented times.
Planning a wedding is stressful at the best of times. When something unforeseen like this comes along it makes it even more stressful. Our thoughts go out to not only our but ALL the couples who are getting married and understand the current COVID-19 ramifications may be a cause of extreme stress and disappointment.
We have worked hard on making some important decisions moving forward to cause the least amount of disruption and stress, whilst working in conjunction with government rules and limiting any chance of personal viral contagion or spread.
Current Clients
If you are a current client that has secured our services, please know that we are there for you. We will do everything in our power to not let you down. If you have our services booked, but you have to postpone your wedding we will stay in contact with you to work on your postponement date.
At the time of writing this article, the government has imposed restrictions on mass gatherings of a maximum of 500 people outdoors and 100 people indoors. Please bear in mind that venue staff and vendors will need to be factored into these numbers. This may be subject to change and may be reduced even further. Please know, that if this occurs, we legally have to stay within the government’s regulations and can not break the rules, however we will work with you on alternative ideas or postponement dates.
Potential Clients
If you are considering us for your wedding, please do not let the current conditions deter you from enquiring. We are still taking new bookings, whilst factoring in factors as they come to light for the near future for the ban of mass gatherings etc. As Australians, we still want to marry the ones we love. We can’t stop planning for the future. Our advice is to plan your future wedding with the hope that COVID-19 will be under control by the time your date comes around.
Client Meetings
As of today, as a measure of keeping ourselves as well as possible and limiting any unnecessary exposure to COVID-19 all client meetings for the foreseeable future will take place online or via the phone. Whilst it’s always great to catch up in person, we need to consider the risk of becoming infected ourselves and forced into a 2 week isolation and the impact this would have on our upcoming clients.
Operational Changes
The NikNat office is still running as per normal (our coffee dates will be postponed). We are there for you whenever you need us, so just give us a call or send through an email.
For the most part, the entertainment element we will be delivering on the day of the event will be mostly unchanged. However, in the effort to ensure we don’t get infected and thereby unable to perform at future couples weddings, we will be strongly suggesting people don’t approach us for song requests but rather text them to a phone number that will be provided. It’s definitely not something we have taken lightly as being approachable is one of the things we have always prided ourselves on. We love chatting to people making requests and it is painful to have to implement this unseen barrier for protection of our clients.
Additionally, many of the close up magic tricks performed for guests at the tables at weddings will be changed to tricks where contact is not necessary. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, however new tricks have been worked on to still give a great time for anyone wanting the magic element at their event.
Contingency Plan
In the event that we become ill and unable to perform, we don’t want to let any of our clients down. We have worked on establishing networks between ourselves and other entertainment companies to ensure that we will do our very best to supply alternative entertainment should the need arise. Again, social distancing is something we are taking serious as supplying alternative entertainment is our last resort.
Entertainment & Wedding Industry
This is also an extremely stressful time for the entertainment and entire wedding industry who rely on this as our source of income. Sadly, many of which are sole-traders and have been overlooked (at the time of writing this) to receive any government assistance. We all have families, homes, bills etc but we as an industry are doing our upmost best for our clients. Please be mindful that everyone is stressed about the unknown month/months ahead and sometimes taking a moment before speaking is a great strategy for all.
We thank you for trusting us for your wedding day and hope you understand our points above.
If you have ANY concerns or questions please feel free to talk to us about it.
We are here for you and want to help ensure your wedding day is amazing with as little disruption as possible.
Warmest wishes,
Nik & Natalie
