An Island Hideaway – The Perfect Wedding Venue?

by Nik Edser

An Island Hideaway is situated on South Stradbroke island on the Gold Coast of Australia and is absolutely a beautiful venue to celebrate your special day.  At NikNat Entertainment, we have provided our services to this stunning venue many times.  It is always our favourite wedding venue, let us share our experience with you about this incredible award winning venue …

An Island Hideaway – How To Get There …

Well, it is an island so the obvious way is a boat!  Depending on the size of the wedding will determine the size of the boat.  The island staff have a range of vessels to choose from to suit your special day and have your guests travel over in style.  Generally, the bride and her bridesmaids will leave earlier on a smaller boat so they have time to get to An Island Hideaway and prepare for the arrival of the groom and the guests.  However, some couples choose to arrive in style with speed boat arrivals for the Groom and grooms men as an option available as well as sea plane arrival for the Bride and bridesmaids!  Very impressive!

An Island Hideaway – The Rest of the Day …

When your guests arrive to An Island Hideaway, they are asked to make their way up to witness the ceremony.  The options of ceremony location are the beach or the chapel.  After the ceremony, many couples choose to have their signing of the registry at the Bali Hut (however you can choose to have the signing also at the chapel or beach).  Following this, you and your guests are entertained by our DJ providing some ambient and appropriate mood setting music whilst yourself and your guests mingle and enjoy a few drinks and delicious canapes.  Generally the Bride & Groom are whisked away by their photographer to make the most of the multitude of picturesque locations on the island.

Before the Bride & Groom return, the guests are asked to take their seats in the reception room to await the arrival of the bridal party.  From here, our DJ again provides the music for the impressive arrival of the bridal party creating a fun feel.  Dinner is then served and I can tell you the food is amazing!  Over dinner, your DJ will provide the perfect music to create a great atmosphere.  Then of course will be the cake cutting, speeches and then finally the Bride & Groom are asked to make their way to the impressive sized dance floor to have their first dance as husband and wife.  Following this, it’s party time!  Our DJ will provide the music right up until it’s time for everyone to get back on the boat for the trip back home.

In summary … at NikNat Entertainment we LOVE “An Island Hideaway”.  The great thing about them is their level of professionalism.  It is little wonder they have won so many awards!  Couples can rest assured that they are in the best of hands with the team when it comes to taking care of every aspect of their special day.  We have worked at a LOT of wedding venues and we can definitely tell you that the team of “An Island Hideaway” definitely have every aspect of a wedding down to a fine art and keeps everything running smoothly.
